General Instructions

The overall dimensions of this project are 96 1/4 inches wide and 51 3/4 inches high. Cut and label the parts as needed, using the Cut List as a guide and adjusting for fit.

Step-by-Step
  1. Build the screen assemblies.
    • Cut the rails and stiles per the Cut List.
    • Using glue and pocket hole joinery, attach the rails to the stiles as shown in the illustration, creating three screen assemblies.
    • With the router, cut a rabbet 1/2 inch deep and 1/2 inch wide around the inside edge of each assembly's opening. Square the corners of each rabbet with a chisel.
    • Fill holes with wood filler, and sand smooth. Prime each assembly, and allow to dry. Apply at least two coats of paint to each assembly, and let dry.
  2. Prepare and insert the panels.
    • Cut the plywood panels per the Cut List. Prime, and allow to dry.
    • Attach wallpaper to both sides of each panel per the manufacturer's instructions.
    • Insert the panels into the screen assemblies, and attach using wire brads.
  3. Install the hinges and furniture glides.
    • Between each completed screen assembly, attach a hinge 9 inches from the top, 9 inches from the bottom, and at the center. To make the screen fold as shown, install the hinges so that all the pins are on the front.
    • Attach a pair of furniture glides to the bottom of each completed screen assembly.
