Clean By Design

Your green thumb may be a little out of practice, and sometimes you might forget to water your indoor plants. But here's a simple, stunning project to help cultivate your inner gardener. The best part? These plants bring much more than good looks to your living space-dracaena helps cleanse the air, and the medicinal aloe soothes scrapes and cuts.

Step-by-Step
  1. Fill a galvanized tub with soil to a few inches from the top.
  2. Arrange and plant the medicinal aloe and dracaena.
  3. Pour sand on top of the soil around the plants, and even it out.
  4. Place the planter in medium light, and add water when the soil feels dry.
