Address Plaques

Invite friends over for a fun-filled afternoon making a unique address plaque.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Address Plaques

November's Unwind & Design project-party idea shows you how a couple of simple materials, such as tile and lumber, can transform your entry and add a warm welcome for holiday guests. You can get together with friends to make these address plaques, or create multiples to give as holiday gifts. Get ready to unwind and design!

  1. Address PlaquesPaint a thick basecoat on the front and sides of the board using a foam brush. Allow 15 minutes for paint to dry. Spray on a clear topcoat in a well-ventilated area or outdoors. Allow 5 to 10 minutes for paint to dry.
  2. Address PlaquesRemove the tiles from the backing, and lay out a border design for the address plaque.
  3. Address PlaquesUsing a glue gun, affix the tiles to the board. (Add the glue to the board, rather than to the tile, to prevent messy glue strings.)
  4. Address PlaquesSecure each house number using a hammer and the hardware included with the numbers.
  5. Address PlaquesAttach a picture hanger to the back of the board at the top and the bottom for added stability.
Good To Know

For a cottage look, you could hang this address plaque from a garden gate using picture wire, or prop it up on a potting bench.
