Small: Quick & Simple

Juggling work and nightly dinners just became more manageable. Easy-to-maintain wire shelving puts pantry items within reach.

Small Pantry
Accessible Storage
  1. Accessible Storage 1Wooden shims painted with chalkboard paint are attached to the shelves with self-fastening strips. Labeled with words such as “pasta” or “snacks,” they can be moved throughout the pantry as the family's needs change. To make the labels, cut 2 1/2 inches off the sides of several wooden shims using a handsaw, and then sand the shims until smooth. Paint the shims with chalkboard paint, and allow to dry.
  2. Accessible Storage 2A stainless two-tier turntable provides easy access to small items.
  3. Accessible Storage 3The inside panels of the pantry doors are covered with chalkboard paint that allows adults and kids to write reminders and messages.

Accessible Storage 4The 16-inch depth of these shelves is standard for most pantries. The former shelves were too deep at 27 inches, which made it difficult to find supplies.
