Shop Stool

Cut and label the parts as needed, using the Cut List and Cutting Diagram as guides and adjusting for fit.

1 Build the leg/bottom board assembly.

a. Following the (01) leg layout in Figure 1, measure and mark the dimensions. Use a 3/4-inch drill bit for the 3/8-inch radius.

b. Locate and mark the vertical centerline of the (01) leg. Draw a parallel line 3/8 inch on each side of the centerline. This will mark the location of the (04) divider.

c. Using glue and nails, attach the (02) bottom board to the (01) legs.

2 Add the curbs and divider to the leg/bottom board assembly.

a. Attach the (03) curbs to the leg/bottom board assembly, aligning the face of the (03) curb with the outer edge of the (01) leg.

b. Following the (04) divider layout in Figure 2, lay out and cut the (04) divider. Verify the height by test-fitting with the leg/bottom board assembly.

c. Using glue and nails, attach the (04) divider to the leg/bottom board assembly.

3 Add the top and finishing touches.

a. Following the (05) top layout in Figure 3, lay out and cut the (05) top. Use a 2-inch hole saw for the ends of the hand hole.

b. Using glue and nails, attach the (05) top to the stool assembly as shown in Figure 3.

c. Fill all nail holes, sand, and prime.

d. Attach nail-on furniture glides to the bottom of the (01) legs.
